It was clear for 2005 that with the numbers attending at Dunoon that we must find a rally site which would handle many more riders, the search on again we settled for the town of Ayr with {Ayr Racecourse} being considered as a possible site.
Our rally no longer being held in an Island, the name was changed to “The Gathering”.
With the new location for our The Gathering rally event being booked by Clyde Valley Chapter and a target of 350 tickets being offered for sale at our new rally location Clyde Valley Chapter was ready to offer a unique rally experience by joining the typical Glasgow humour with that of Rabbie Burns in Ayr.
In reality our expectation of 350 attending our first Gathering was a bit understated as we had approx 450 attending which was a blessing in disguise as we quickly realised that to offer a limit of 500 tickets being sold allowed us to offer a close knit rally event wherbye all attending were part of the same party atmosphere and within a superb rally site.
Since 2005 Clyde Valley Chapters “The Gathering”
has been held annually at Ayr Racecourse which is the home of the Scottish Grand National.
